Picking up where the famous "red wig" commercials left off, we designed and developed the "Hot, Juicy Burger" website in collaboration with Saatchi & Saatchi NY. The website let you try on the iconic pigtails to announce why you deserved a hot, juicy burger. If the rest of the world agreed with you, you could win hot, juicy burgers for life.
Visitors to the website browsed a world of fellow, fresh beef enthusiasts, voting for their favorites. Those who wanted to take part created a virtual likeness of themselves—complete with a microphone-recorded cry of "hot, juicy burger"—and joined the crowd. By returning to the site daily and by spreading the word via e-mail and social networking sites, users earned points toward the various prizes offered on the site, including the grand prize, burgers for life.
Throughout the promotion, the leader of the contest had his or her character dynamically shown on the homepage of Wendys.com. Rich media ads for the campaign pulled in random site participants and encouraged new users to join the cause. Users were able to start the process from within the banner, creating their likeness before continuing on the website to complete the process.
